Movable 7th chords
Movable 7th chords
A movable chord shape can be used to play different chords by moving the same chord shape to different positions on the fretboard, and also, different movable shapes can be used to play different chords in the same place or close to each other on the fretboard.
;Below you will find different chord shapes with their scale degrees colored, the first scale degree 1, is the root and where you place the root on the fretboard determines what notes you will play strumming your chord. If you play shape 2 at the 3rd fret you will play a C-minor chord, and at 7th fret an E-minor chord. At the bottom you can find a fretboard chart showing the note names as reference.
